SEO is a process which improves the result of searching a website and makes the website or the webpage more clearly visible to the viewers. This searching is basically done by natural or unpaid search methods. It is also known as organic or algorithmic search results.

It is a common practice for all of us that when we need to find some topics or website or any other query we just browse our internet and then open any search engine but sometimes we do not get to the actual or the preferable website that we are looking for. It seems that the World Wide Web has spanned its web like the web of a spider and we are looking at the screen and scanning the whole page. So at this juncture we need a tool that will optimize the search result and some ranking is there with the aid of which we can go to our desired website. This gives rise to the necessity of SEO or Search Engine Optimization. It seems that a SEO is nothing but a tool that will arrange the websites according to the rankings. But in practical sense its mechanism is quite complex.

 SEO first makes out the mechanism of the working of the search engines. Secondly, SEO finds out what is the term or the query that is typed. Now the optimization of the website is to be done and this optimization can be done by increasing the number of the keywords which is very much convenient in searching the particular query or by editing the HTML codes or the content of the subject. SEO is illegible to understand flash movies frames, java script and images. It also can not detect the directories. This has led to the requirement of a simulator. After the completion of simulation the indexing becomes possible in the web pages. There is a database that is maintained in order to keep the track record of all the contents of the web pages. Thus whenever any query is searched we can easily get the answer by retrieving the data. So optimization of the search engine should be done. The more the optimization is done, the higher will be the rank of the webpage.

After giving the required search, the search engine will tally the given keyword with the relevant strings from the indexed pages in the database. This is known as processing. There are some algorithms which are generally used to test the relevancy of the given keywords with the words that are there in the database in the search engine. The value of the relevancy is then calculated from those algorithms.

After processing is over we will see the desired results in our browser which is actually obtained by retrieving the results from the database stored in the search engine. This is known as retrieving.
